Residential Dumpster Rental in Erie, PA

Residential Dumpster Rental in Erie, PA

Our residential dumpster rental is the container most Erie homeowners call about: a 10, 15 or 20-yard roll-off dropped on the driveway for a garage or basement cleanout, a kitchen or bathroom remodel, a move, or the estate of a family member. One flat price covers delivery, the rental period, pickup and a disposal weight allowance, and we quote it before the truck rolls.

Household cleanup dumpsters are built for the way a home job actually goes: a few days of filling, a weekend push, then a call to have it hauled. You choose the dates and we place the container where you want it, with boards under the rails if your driveway needs protecting.

What a home dumpster rental in Erie is used for

Cleanouts are the most common job: basements and garages full of thirty years of boxes, rental units between tenants around Gannon and Penn State Behrend, and whole-house cleanouts after a move or a death in the family. A 15 or 20-yard container handles most of them in one go.

Remodels are next. A kitchen or bathroom tear-out, old flooring and carpet, plaster and lath from an older house near the bayfront, drywall and trim from a basement finish in Millcreek or Summit, or a deck coming down all fit a 10 to 20-yard box. If you are taking a roof off, tell us: shingles are heavy and we size for weight, not just volume.

We also deliver for storm clean-up after a lake-effect winter, shed and fence tear-downs, and the spring purge from Lawrence Park and Harborcreek to Fairview, Girard and Edinboro. If it is coming out of a house in Erie County, we have a container for it.

Where the container goes

Most residential dumpsters go on the driveway. In the City of Erie that still needs the City’s prior approval: City Code § 1129.03 (QOL-10) says every temporary dumpster, whether on private property or in the right-of-way, must be approved by the City first, with a $100 ticket if it is skipped. The City publishes no form or fee for it, so we clear the placement with Code Enforcement or the Bureau of Engineering before we deliver.

Outside the city the rules change at every line: Harborcreek treats a dumpster as a temporary use and keeps it out of the road, North East Borough wants a 30-day zoning permit for a construction-debris container, Waterford Borough permits temporary storage containers for 30 days a year, Edinboro limits who may haul garbage in the borough, Summit exempts a construction dumpster from its screening rules, and Millcreek, Fairview, McKean and Lawrence Park publish no dumpster rule at all. Our service-area pages spell out each one.

What can go in a household cleanup dumpster

Furniture, boxes, clothing, toys, carpet, flooring, drywall, lumber, cabinets, fixtures and general junk are all fine. Pennsylvania keeps some things out: since 24 January 2013 computers, monitors, printers and TVs may not go out with municipal waste at all, landfills may not take lead-acid batteries or loads that are mostly leaves, containers of free liquid over a gallon are refused, and hazardous waste never goes in. Refrigerators and air conditioners need the refrigerant recovered first, and oil-based paint, solvents and chemicals go to one of Erie County’s household hazardous waste collection days rather than a container. Our guide to what stays out lists the rest and where each item goes.

Residential Dumpster Rental FAQ
  • How much does a residential dumpster rental cost in Erie?
We quote one flat price on the phone based on the size and what is going in it. It covers delivery, the rental period, pickup and the disposal weight allowance. Call (814) 679-3372 and you will have a number before you hang up.
  • Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
We place boards under the container rails on request, and our drivers set the box down rather than dragging it. Tell us if your driveway is new or decorative concrete and we will plan around it.
  • How long can I keep a home dumpster?
As long as your project needs in most places; most household jobs run three to seven days. Harborcreek limits a dumpster to two consecutive months a year, and North East and Waterford boroughs work in 30-day permits, so tell us the town and we set the dates to fit.
  • Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
No. Mark the spot or send us a photo, and we will place it exactly where you asked. Make sure nothing is parked in front of the container on pickup day.
